Wish for an "Oh-So Savannah" Winter Holiday

The outdoor winter temperature is mild, city sidewalks beckon a "let's walk," old Savannah shops deliver a chic international flare, and the historic district park squares are glorious decorated for Christmas. All this, and there's something abuzz for a grand holiday season of shopping, heartfelt yuletide entertainment and an authentic "Oh-So Savannah" Holiday -- Thanksgiving weekend through New Year's Day.

Storytime in Savannah

In tune with the South's reputation for storytelling, libraries and book stores are featuring storytelling for children. Recent finds include:
- "Olivia and the Missing Toy" by Ian Falconer, 7 p.m. July 29, and "The True Story of the Three Little Pigs" by Jon Scieszka, 11 a.m. July 30, Barnes & Noble Booksellers, Oglethorpe Mall. Call 353-9231.
